Entertainment Activities
Live Theater Experiences:
- The Wyo Theater
is a completely restored vaudevillian theater; it is on the National
Register of Historic Buildings and is a treasure to the local and
out-of-town artists who grace her stage. Each season approximately 20 diverse,
high-quality performances by professional artists and companies are
complimented by many additional local performances, as well as debates,
lectures, seminars, and dance recitals to name just a few. Visit their website for tickets or to view the current season's offerings.
- Carriage House Theater
(also on the National Register of Historic Buildings) is a very small
local theater, home to Sheridan's very talented thespians and
directors. Once the carriage house to The Kendrick Mansion (now the
Trail End Mansion and Museum), the theater provides a cozy atmosphere
where one can enjoy each production as though it is in your own
living room.
Sheridan Wyo Rodeo
Every July, Sheridan boasts the largest single go-round PRCA rodeo in the U.S. A full week of activities is highlighted by a parade and three performances of the Sheridan Wyo Rodeo. The World Championship Indian Relay Races are held in conjunction with the Sheridan Wyo Rodeo and kick off each performance. You just have to see it to believe it!
Movie Theater:
Sheridan's movie theater has six screens; art films are shown at the Wednesday Night Film Festival during the fall and winter months.
